Tokbox just raised $10M from Bain and Sequoia. TC gave it a raving review for its ease of use. I do like the fact that you don't need a client nor an account to start chatting. Do you think Tokbox is the best video chat service out there?

Im using it and find that it is the best one out there. I'm hoping that it will hit the stock market one of these days.

I don't think so. Right now there are a lot of competitors and Tokbok hasn't done anything to separate itself from the pack.

Personally I love the video chat, it's so easy to use!

With the $10 million they just received they could find a way to gain traction and expand their user base.

I'm not sure if they can catch up to Skype or Yahoo Messenger though.

I personally prefer Skype and AIM since I have all my contacts there. Tokbox is nice since you don't have to download anything and anybody can call you, but I'm not sure I would switch over.

Yeah Tokbox isn't big here in the Netherlands.

TokBox Meebo Partnership?
Jun 26, 2008 - 2 comments
I read a few months ago that TokBox and Meebo were teaming up to much multi-person chat easier. However, when I briefly look around either site today, I don't see any mention of this partnership. Is the partnership still on? If so, why not make it more visible to the average user?
